Currently, we export seaweed extracts and other products to over 40 countries world-wide.Working jointly with our partners in these countries we have developed application programmes that provide better, healthier, more productive growth in a range of plant and crop types.

These Plant Health Programmes work in harmony with other plant production and plant protection products to provide the best, most profitable performance.

We are continually looking to the future and are currently developing 'enhanced-effect' products that will further improve a plant's ability to withstand stress situations to a greater degree.

ALGEA WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1937, WHILST MAXICROP WAS FOUNDED IN 1952.

Both companies were early pioneers in the development of seaweed extracts for use by animals and plants.

Now over 60 years on, seaweed extracts are still at the core of our business. Indeed, Algea and Maxicrop are probably the most widely recognised, well established companies in this field, offering innovation and continuity of supply of quality Norwegian seaweed-derived products.

SUSTAINABLE HARVESTING

Professional harvesters cut and gather the Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed in specially designed boats, leaving some of the seaweed attached to the rocks, this allows it to grow back fully after 4-5 years.

This sustainable method of harvesting has been practised for over 50 years, ensuring that this wonderful natural resource is maintained forever.
