Imagine a special place at the edge of the world lit by the splendour of the Midnight sun, where climate conditions give a new meaning to the extreme. Imagine cold and fresh waters where whales swim and tides frequently change the natural environment. Imagine all that and you have imagined Algea's sites.
We have three plants in Norway: one dedicated to extracts for farming and two dedicated to meals and powders for human consumption, cosmetics, animal feed and agriculture.
Our northern site is the only one above the Arctic Circle where seaweeds grow in clean, cold oceanic waters. The Arctic environment gives incomparable characteristics to this wonderful natural resource processed by Algea for human uses.
Algea is strictly bound to its environment as it is built upon thousands of years of Norwegian traditions in the use of seaweeds. Algea is also grateful to people living on the Norwegian coasts. They have handed down traditions of seaweed use and enable a sustainable collection up to now.
